Sandra J. Gonyier is not new to mediation.  She seems to have been born with the talent of knowing how to use mediation and negotiation skills to resolve problems and conflicts.  She has automatically used the principals of mediation and negotiation throughout her life, whether as a student, as a wife and mother, or as a career woman.

In 1996, Ms. Gonyier decided to change her career goals, put her skills to work, and become a mediator.  She returned to school in order to obtain the educational background needed to fulfill this decision.  Ms. Gonyier successfully completed her education, obtaining the following:

  • B.A. in Communication with a concentration in Human Communication from California State University San Bernardino, San Bernardino, CA
  • M.A. in Communication with a concentration in Dispute Resolution from California State University San Bernardino, San Bernardino, CA
Ms. Gonyier has also been awarded the following certifications:
  • Certification in Conflict Management from California State University San Bernardino, San Bernardino, CA

  • Certification with the Community Action Partnership Riverside County Dispute Resolution Center, Riverside, California

  • Ms. Gonyier has also received training as a Business Coach and is a graduate of CoachU University and a student of CoachVille University.

  • In addition, Ms. Gonyier also has over 600 hours of Small Claims Court Mediations

With this background, Ms. Gonyier established a private practice where she provides services as a mediator, consultant and trainer. During her service as a Certified Volunteer Mediator for the County of Riverside California, Ms. Gonyier realized many disputants were ill-prepared for mediation.  She felt there was a need for people to learn how to prepare for mediation and other forms of conflict resolution.  Ms. Gonyier, therefore, expanded her practice to include mediation/arbitration consulting.  As a consultant, she serves private clients, teaches classes, conducts seminars, speaks at organizational functions, and writes articles on mediation.  Ms. Gonyier believes that most disputes, whether personal or professional, can be resolved if the parties involved truly want a resolution.  To this end, she strives to educate as many people as possible on the benefits of mediation.

Sandra J. Gonyier was born and raised in the Midwest.  When, as an adult, she decided the winters there were entirely too cold, she moved to Southern California and is now living in La Quinta, CA with her daughter and their Border Collie, Caelen.
